"The State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children issues is working on amendments to Article 127 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation. The second draft of the law will be reviewed on June 18, 2013. According to lawmaker Elena Mizulina, "specifically, we are considering the possibility of creating legal grounds for the removal of children from same sex parent families". This legislation could have negative consequences far beyond same sex couples with children. It could also affect single parents who will need to prove their traditional sexual orientation. Children from loving stable homes will become orphans even though they have loving caring living parents. Society will be affected by a sharp rise in teen crime and teen suicide rate. We demand that this crude and dangerous draft law be blocked."
